China Adoption Program Overview
The China adoption program has recently changed and as of May 1, 2007, all applicants must meet new requirements that include age, marital staus, income, weight, medical history, criminal history, among others. Time frames on an adoption from China have changed dramatically. Families in the waiting stages, the time between acceptance into the program by the Chinese Government (commonly know as an "LID" or log in date) and the issuance of a referral, are now waiting on an average of 3 years and beyond.
What was once one of the most reliable and stable programs (Statistically, since 2000, US citizens chose China for their adoption more often than any other country allowing US Citizens to adopt) has now become a program with wait times that have been growing over time for all adoption agencies.
European Adoption Consultants, Inc. has received COA accreditation, allowing us to be one of the select few adoption agencies worldwide that CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) has granted permission to be a part of their Special Needs Program. Your family may wish to explore special needs services through your community or by calling the EAC main office at 800-533-0098
FEATURING: The EAC Video Vault
EAC is starting the EAC Video Vault. This will be a place where we can eventually host company videos. Current plans include newscasts about EAC families like this one, picnics and events like Memorial Weekend at the Zoo, consultants talking about the adoption process and tips for post adoptive parents just to name a few. Keep a look out in the future for more videos. You can find the Video Vault under the Media button in the main navigation at the top of the page.
