Project Sunshine/Maria House
Beaman "Sunshine Party" -- May 30, 2009

Our son Andrew Viktor has been home from Russia 18-months now and is doing great! My 40th birthday was coming up and I knew I wasn't going to be able to sneak away from this one, so my husband threw a lovely Garden Party/Sunshine Party for me and invited all of our friends...our bible study group, neighbors, and "extended family". Our friends graciously donated $820 and we threw in $140 we'd made at a consignment sale. My company matched the donation and sent a check for $1000, so we were thrilled to send nearly $2K towards a new roof over Maria House. For me, I can't think of a better birthday gift. I had a good start as a young girl and I've been blessed to have countless "angels" show up during our adoption journey. It's all I can do to see that these fine young women get a good start too. Pay it forward!! Even in this economy, we're so much better off than most places in the world.
